“SRSI is an acronym for ‘Speculative Response to Self Isolation’. I consider myself more of a figurative, portrait artist. Although I create many abstract line art pieces, I had never made paintings like these before, and I also want to note that these pieces look quite masculine in contrast to my typical style. I woke up on May 6th, 2020 with the intention to work on a public art project, but almost out of nowhere, I ended up creating several of these gestural abstract paintings instead. I’m still producing abstracts like these in addition to my known works… not sure where they will take me.” -OHSO
